Love Cats Dresses and Knitwear

Just recently, we did an amazing photoshoot with Images of Life by Lisa featuring our beautiful Love Cats collection! Lisa is an absolute dream to work with and she takes such wonderful photos. We had a little one-on-one with her about her work as a photographer so scroll down to see more special edition photos and read our mini interview with her.

1) Tell us a little something about your business, IOL Images of Life Photography.
IOL is based in the Gold Coast but does travel worldwide - simple, relaxed, natural light on-location photography.

"It’s all about LOVE" at Images of Life by Lisa – it’s the LOVE of your child, family, partner, shoes, nature, friends, couture, homes, furniture, and and and and - your whole world, your life and everything in it, if YOU love it or need people to love what YOU do, then it’s all about love' and I’d LOVE to photograph it for you !!!

2) How did you get interested in photography?
I was a florist after leaving school and friended a photographer and ended up working for him and learning his style, which led into my own.

3) How was it like working with Oobi?

I have worked with Oobi for around 8 years now and it is always a dream, easy to deal with and beautiful fun products with a cute style.

4) Did the girls like their cat dresses?

Yes the girls loved the cat dress's, esp the swing style - the cute but comfy clothing from Oobi is always a fav with my girls.

5) Where did you get the cute kitten?

Baby Herbert is our family friends kitten, Miss Jane from Loyalty Dance Co - he was three weeks old in the pics, very adorable.

6) How was it like working with a cat?

The kitten was challenging and like any animal it did not stay still making Soph giggle as it kept snuggling into her neck.

7) Have you photographed other animals in the past too?

Yes dogs, cats, birds, and goats have been in images before.

8) What is the one thing you enjoy most about taking pictures?

I love sharing wedding days all the pretty bits, I love documenting that little face a child pulls that the mum knows so well, and I love when parents say, oh that’s exactly the way he is, I can see it in the images (mostly with tears of joy).

I love creating the feel of a season of product for companies, and even pushing new ideas they may not have thought of too - pretty much I just love documenting with images everything.

9) What do you think is the most important thing to consider in order to capture the best "image of life"?

I strive to capture the heart and essence of the subject - so people 'feel' the image not just see a pretty picture - the 'real' part the image of life part.

10) Which kinds of pictures are your favourite to shoot?

I do love kids, but also teens and adults - wedding are dreamy and as are homes - but my favourite things are little mini styled sessions to tell the 'story' of the person or product.
