UPF measures how much ultraviolet radiation can pass through fabric. UPF40 allows approximately 1/40 of UV radiation through, while UPF50 allows approximately 1/50. Rinse swimwear in fresh, cool water after swimming, especially after chlorine or salt water. Wash gently in cool water and dry in the shade. Follow the care label on the individual garment to help preserve its colour, stretch and UPF performance.
