Matching Mum and Me Christmas Outfits for 2026

Every December there's a moment. Lunch is on, the cousins are running feral, and somebody says "quick, get a photo of you two." Matching outfits turn that photo into the one that goes on the fridge, then into the album, then into a 21st birthday slideshow twenty years from now that she'll act embarrassed by and secretly love.

We've been making mum and mini matches since 2005. They're 100% cotton (because Christmas in Australia is hot), every print is designed by Alex, and every one is made to be passed down. Whether you call them mum and me outfits or mummy and daughter matching clothes, here are this year's.

Mummy and daughter matching dresses: the 2026 matches

Big Heart, for the photo that wins Christmas
Mum wears the Women's Big Heart Maxi Dress. Your mini picks her favourite: the Big Heart Girls' Midi Dress for twirling, the Big Heart Gracie Reversible Dress for two looks in one, or the Big Heart Pocket Skirt with a tee for the kid who refuses all dresses on principle.

Red Big Heart, for the full-colour family
The Women's Red Big Heart Maxi Dress pairs with the Red & Pink Heart Midi Dress, which has a removable belt so she can style it her way (she will).

Wild Hearts, for the evening do
The Women's Wild Hearts Long Sleeve Maxi Dress with the Wild Hearts Rebecca Dress with Collar. Long sleeves for mum make this one for Christmas Eve, Tasmania, or anyone who feels the cold in the aircon.

The bake-off
Not every match needs to be a dress. The Red Dot Cookie Apron is made for Christmas baking, and it matches our Pink & Red Dots Marlow Dress for the mini supervising the icing.

Baby's first Christmas? Our baby's first Christmas outfits post has heart playsuits, strawberry rompers and keepsake gifts for the littlest one in the photo.

Not ready to fully match? Coordinate

Mum in red, mini in red: done. The Red Cotton Lace Party Dress or the Marlow with its oversized bow will sit next to almost anything red in your wardrobe and still look like you planned it.

Three tips for a photo that doesn't look staged

  1. Shoot before lunch. After lunch, there will be gravy.
  2. Give her a job: twirl, hold your hand and run, or whisper a secret. Real giggles beat "say cheese" every time.
  3. Find shade or window light. Harsh midday sun makes everyone squint, and that includes Nan.

Getting it in time

Order by 18 December for Christmas delivery. We dispatch in 1-2 business days, shipping is free over $69.95, and if the size isn't right on your first order, the exchange is on us.

FAQs

What sizes do the matching outfits come in?
Girls' styles run from 2Y to 12Y, and women's sizes are listed on each product. If you're between sizes, our size guide and the chat button are there to help.

Will cotton be too hot on Christmas Day?
Cotton is the coolest thing you can wear in an Aussie December. It breathes, and it's soft on hot, sticky skin.

Can I mix and match prints?
Absolutely. Oobi prints are drawn to work together, so a Big Heart mum with a Wild Hearts mini still looks like a set.
