On the Farm! Winter Girls Clothing, May 2025
Hi Everyone,
I'm always so excited to share the first sneak peek photos of a collection with you and our girls winter clothing this season is created with love and with a passion for retro and vintage style.
Our new collection is inspired by the kind of clothing you’ll want to keep — not just for memories, but to pass down from sister to sister, cousin to friend. Every piece is made with love and built to last, with vintage-inspired designs that feel both timeless and joyful. We know mums want more than just pretty dresses — so when I design it's all about comfort, quality, and something your child actually wants to wear.
Hopefully you'll be as delighted with this range as we are, and I always appreciate your feedback and love to hear your thoughts about it too! As always, please share your pics with us on all the socials - #oobi @oobi so that we can share the love right back.
This is Mathilda. A black and white traditional woven cotton gingham dress. She's got the sweetest star shaped buttons down the front, and a very gentle elastic at the wrist. I love this piece for its versatility. You can pair it with pretty much any colours you like. It looks just as great with pops of red, as with teal, blue, pink, navy or anything your little one loves. An instant classic, it's swingy, loosely fitted and cotton rich.
I'm a fan of a very traditional smocked dress. Vintage dress styling is so sweet and, depending on the prints, it can either feel elevated, old fashioned, or be a lovely twist on a classic. I feel that our new Roses print is a twist on a classic. It's got a fine blue and white stripe for the base, overlaid with gorgeous pinks, teals, pops of red with bold cabbage roses. Slightly unexpected colours that make you look twice.
The ruching is gentle with a stretch, but of course we've lined the bodice so that it feels as good on the inside, as it looks on the outside. Ties at the back nip in in or let it out and there's a simple zipper at the back.
Starstruck! Well what can I say? All the girls loved this pretty piece. It's hard to tell but the gold in the print sparkles so well in the sunlight and the fabric is a dense cotton that has a heavy weight to it for winter.
The perfect, long sleeved winter dress, and again, you'd be surprised by how many colours you can pair with this piece. We loved all the pink tones, navy and even yellow. We'll share some photos of Starstruck with various colours of cardigan soon so you can choose your own adventure.
She's sweet, she's a treasure! Our long sleeved Treasure dress has a little heart shaped pocket that I've added ties to so that it looks like a little handbag. Perfect for secret squirrelling all those precious things that little girls need. Rocks, paper notes, flowers, frogs - all the necessities for kid life.
Treasure Dress is hand block printed with a nod to our roots - we've been making our clothing with artisan makers in India for almost 20 years and I'm very passionate about the traditional printing style. Block hand printing doesn't only have to create traditional prints but it is so unique and special. Here we've printed a more retro paisley style in the navy and our signature flutter hearts style so you can choose your favourite.
Both dresses are finished with cotton lace and ruffles at the shoulder. Because more is more of course!
I'm a sucker for a shirt dress, gingham and for patchwork and... well lookie here, I'm so happy to release all three!
Our shirt dress is a little unexpected. Instead of just a straight shirt style, I've added layers to the skirt that gives it the most incredible shape, plus ease of movement because I never want our girls to feel like they can't run, play, cartwheel, or roll in the grass whenever they want.
A sweet fabric tie and belt loops just completes the look but you can pop the belt in her (or your!) hair and mix-and-match.
My favourite colour is green and I love patchwork so our patchwork hexagon print ticks all the boxes for me. The colours look incredible on all the girls, and the bright pops will create some joy and sunlight on a cloudy day. I've also created a reversible coat in the patchwork print which we'll release towards the end of May!
If you've gotten this far, thank you so much for reading. We're so excited to deliver these pieces to your door this week and can't wait to see your pics!
Love
