The tape measure should go around where the hat will sit. Great hat!

My daughter loves her new Chloe hat! Gorgeous pattern, and an excellent wide brim for sun protection.

The ponytail hole is a bit odd - perhaps it's too small or not located quite right for my daughter's hairstyle, but we find that unusable in this hat compared to others we've had with this feature. Luckily the sizing is sufficiently roomy for it sit properly on her head over the ponytail.

Beautiful hats but fit very large

Beautiful prints and great wide brim. My kids are 4 and 7 so I bought M-L and L-XL, and hats that came were labelled as L and XL but they are enormous for them unfortunately so the inner seam of the hat constantly folds down and covers their eyes and the hat moves all around so both hate wearing them :( Maybe they just both have tiny heads but I bought according to age suggestions. The XL fits my head so they are quite large I feel, and I wish they had adjusters in them.

The hat has a wonderful sized brim, great protection! the bucket is nice and deep for a good fit, and the pony tail hole is a great addition! My daughter loves her new hat and can't wait to show her friends at kindy!
